About Me

Meet Raina, a special soul in our care. Rhonda is her mom, and Raina’s journey has been uniquely challenging. She may have some brain damage, which sets her apart. At about 1/4 the size of her adopted littermates (who have all found loving homes), Raina faces physical challenges.

Controlling her tongue and struggling to eat, Raina moves with a distinctive gait, reminiscent of a cat with tape on its feet. Her two speeds, run and sleep, showcase her resilience and contentment. Despite her differences, Raina exudes happiness, finding joy in simple pleasures.

At 6 months old (as of 11/28/2023), Raina’s petite stature contrasts with her sisters, who have reached around 40 pounds. Raina, on the other hand, might be around 10 pounds.

Her unique bond with Ben, the rescue coordinator’s adult son, adds a heartwarming touch. Raina’s ability to hear him from across the house reflects the depth of their connection.

Raina cannot make her tongue work, but her love for food persists, even though it’s a bit challenging for her. Additionally, she likes to dump her food out and then chase it around and around, adding a playful and endearing aspect to her personality.

Are you ready to open your heart and home to Raina, providing her the love and care she needs to thrive in a world that might be a bit different for her?

Want to Adopt me?

The choice to invite a new pet into your home is a significant decision. Our Adoption Application is thoughtfully designed to gather essential information, setting the stage for a meaningful conversation with a volunteer who can guide you towards the perfect pet match. Alongside completing the application, please attend to the following important steps:

1. Ensure your current pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives before introducing a new pet to the home.
2. If you rent, engage in a conversation with your landlord to understand and comply with pet policies.

Once your application is submitted, our dedicated volunteers will verify your veterinary and landlord references if necessary. Following this, they will reach out to you for a conversation to understand your preferences in a pet and assist you in finding the ideal match.
